Second U2 show for Mexico City
Tickets go on sale to the general public on Wednesday 21 June at 11am local time. A presale for U2.com subscribers commences at 10am this Friday, 16 June.
Mexico City is likely to be the only North American city on the third leg of the tour to get multiple shows—the US dates have not sold fast enough to justify second shows, nor is there room in the schedule for another date to be added in most of those cities anyway. We do, however, anticipate additional dates in South America for La Plata and Sao Paulo.
This extra show means that every time U2 have visited Mexico City, they have played multiple dates. Will there be a third date? Current rumours indicate just two shows in Mexico City, and there is not room in the schedule for a third date to be added after the second one. But could a third date be added before these two shows? That's exactly what happened the last time U2 were in Mexico, when demand in 2011 was so strong a third show was added before the first two. Don't count on a third show being added this time, but there is a sufficient gap between San Diego and the first Mexico City date for another to fit in.
