U2 announce Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo dates in 2011
Just a few minutes ago, U2.com confirmed the long awaited shows in Argentina and Brazil. After months of rumours and waiting for an announcement, the South American tour is happening!
The Argentinian show will take place on 30 March 2011 at the Estadio Ciudad de La Plata in the city of La Plata, near Buenos Aires. This is the first U2 concert in Argentina not held in Buenos Aires city itself (although it is in Buenos Aires province). A presale for U2.com members starts on 4 December 2010.
The Brazilian show will take place at the Morumbi Stadium in Sao Paulo on 9 April 2011. A presale for U2.com members starts on 1 December 2010. That's just 2 days away!
The support act for both dates will be Muse.
To dabble again in rumours, Santiago in Chile is rumoured to have a concert prior to the Argentinian date, and Porto Alegre in Brazil is rumoured to have a concert after the Sao Paulo gig. Both La Plata and Sao Paulo are rumoured to be getting two shows assuming the first show sells strongly enough; La Plata is even rumoured to possibly have three shows.
