The worst-kept secret in U2 world is out. After
cancelling their 2010 appearance due to Bono's back surgery (leaving Edge to
perform with Muse), speculation was rife that they would reschedule for 2011. In October 2010, U2.com dropped a
not-so-subtle hint that U2 would be in the 2011 line-up, but confirmation had not been forthcoming - until now.
U2 have been
confirmed as the Pyramid Stage headliners for the Friday night of this year's festival,
24 June 2011. This is wedged between two North American concerts - Baltimore on
22 June and East Lansing on
26 June.
Tickets for Glastonbury sold out months ago, unfortunately. If you are
really keen to go, there may be a re-sale of cancelled tickets in the Northern spring. U2.com will understandably not be running a presale for this appearance.
