Rehearsals in Vancouver, 4 May 2017

Today was the third day of rehearsals in BC Place, and it was been rather quiet. There is very little to say quite honestly; there was some very minor work in the afternoon, including Pride and Red Hill Mining Town, which we believe was done by the techs. U2 have finally taken the stage themselves and seem to be running through their planned core setlist. As usual, the running set is under the jump. Big thanks to zuma for providing a mixlr tonight and helping to iron out some of the minor details, and to cusack for streaming on Periscope.

The order of the main set has been jumbled a bit from yesterday, albeit very minor alterations. Reports indicate things started off with an unidentified song, which we have not been able to hear. A couple of spoilerific notes: it seems that for In God's Country the first part of the song is played acoustically, and Edge then switches to electric for the solo onwards. Red Hill Mining Town sounds gorgeous with an organ playing in the background; Terry is really earning his money with that one! Bono shouted out during Edge's guitar portions on Exit tonight, but we have no way to speculate on what he may have said.

After the main set they took a short break and then worked on the Pride to Streets transition for a few minutes, playing the end of the song multiple times before leading into the first few bars of Streets and then stopping. After another brief break they played Exit again; Bono seems to be working on a rant, and this time the end of the song contained a distorted voice as the guitar faded out.

Edit: U2FanPeter has confirmed that the song before Sunday Bloody Sunday was not in fact U2. It was instead A Rainy Night In Soho by The Pogues being played over the PA system. Possibly just a test of the sound system, or maybe our first indication of this tour's entrance song. We have amended the below set accordingly.

  1. Sunday Bloody Sunday
  2. New Year's Day
  3. A Sort of Homecoming
  4. MLK
  5. Pride
  6. Where the Streets Have No Name
  7. I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For
  8. With or Without You
  9. Bullet the Blue Sky
  10. Running to Stand Still
  11. Red Hill Mining Town
  12. In God's Country
  13. Trip Through Your Wires
  14. One Tree Hill
  15. Exit
  16. Mothers of the Disappeared
  17. Pride (end of song) - Where the Streets Have No Name (beginning of song)
