U2 to appear at Brit Awards

The new album and tour cycle has begun to kick into gear. Today, rumours that U2 will perform at this year's Brit Awards ceremony have been confirmed. The ceremony takes place on 18 February 2009 at Earl's Court Arena in London. On the Brit Awards homepage is additional information that the band will perform their new single, Get On Your Boots. Funnily enough, U2.com are yet to explicitly confirm the single's title or release date.

This is not U2's first appearance at the Brit Awards. On 26 February 2001, U2 performed three Achtung Baby songs in addition to their then latest hit, Beautiful Day. Visit U2gigs on the 18th of February for the full setlist from this year's appearance.
