Setlist on Jonathan Ross - and more

It may have been a Thursday, but U2 played on Friday Night With Jonathan Ross. Taping for the show takes place the day before it is broadcast. The band performed Get On Your Boots and Breathe, like on Le Grand Journal. A couple of pictures have been posted to Jonathan Ross's Twitter: see here and here. U2 were reportedly "GREAT live". Once the show is broadcast, we will hopefully update with some YouTube video, assuming there are no more aggressive copyright claims that deprive fans outside the UK the chance to see U2 play. After the taping of Ross's programme, the band were filmed performing Get On Your Boots again, this time to be broadcast on the 13th of March on a one-off episode of Top Of The Pops in aid of Red Nose Day.

Now, what's happening on Friday itself? Not just the broadcast of Jonathan Ross's show. U2 are going to be a little busy. Firstly, they appear on BBC Radio 1. Jo Whiley's show begins from 10am and U2 are doing a Live Lounge session that reportedly will include Get On Your Boots, a "vintage" U2 song, and as is normal on Live Lounge, a cover. Later, U2 appear live on Chris Evans' drivetime show on BBC Radio 2, which begins from 5pm. This will include an interview in the first hour, then Evans has hinted at something special in the second hour. Rumours suggest this might be a secret mini-concert in London. Then later in the evening, Jonathan Ross's show goes to air on BBC One at 10:30pm, immediately followed by an extended edition of the U2 episode of The Culture Show on BBC Two at 11:30pm.

We will naturally keep you updated on developments and setlists. Stay tuned! It looks like being an exciting day.

Oh, and just as a heads-up for next week, on Monday afternoon UK time, tune into Ian Camfield's show on XFM for an interview with The Edge. Since the band will already be in the US to appear on Letterman's show, the interview has naturally been pre-recorded; in it, Edge reveals that the recent leak of No Line On The Horizon was partly a good thing.
