Members of U2 to appear with Gavin Friday

After their two concerts and Saturday Night Live appearance in New York in September, the band will be coming back to New York in October. On 4 October 2009, the night after the band's first ever concert in Raleigh, all four members will appear at An Evening With Gavin Friday And Friends. See the official announcement on Gavin Friday's website here.

This show is being held at the Carnegie Hall. It is partly a 50th birthday celebration for Gavin Friday, and partly a bit of a fundraiser - it is an event in the calendar of the Red Nights concert series being held by Product Red, and a portion of the proceeds will go to fight AIDS. Ticket prices range between $35 and $250, and go on sale on the 16th of September. You can buy them via the Carnegie Hall website.

A whole bunch of other special guests will appear, and interestingly, all four members of U2 are listed separately on the bill by name. They are not billed as U2 and accordingly it appears they won't be appearing as U2 itself. What will they (and the other guests) be doing at the show? In an interview, Gavin Friday says "that's a secret ..."
