Today, U2 played their first of two concerts in Toronto, and first of three Canadian concerts for 2009. Earlier in the day, a soundcheck was conducted. It included Your Blue Room (instrumental), Crazy Tonight, some of Walk On, Moment Of Surrender's intro, more of Your Blue Room, and finally Moment Of Surrender (instrumental) again.
The setlist was identical to that played at
Chicago II. This is the first time U2 have played the same setlist at consecutive shows on the 360° Tour (excluding
Barcelona I being identical to the
dress rehearsal). Accordingly, Your Blue Room was played for the second time ever, and Pride missed its second show in a row. It is rare enough for Pride to be dropped (since 1984, it has been played at all full tour concerts except for 26 in 2001), and missing two consecutive shows is even more remarkable.
Perhaps the distinguishing feature of the Toronto set is that Bono threw in some Elvis Costello snippets. Thanks to those on Twitter who provided live updates, especially EdgeFest and MickiMaynard. The full setlist was:
- Breathe
- No Line On The Horizon
- Get On Your Boots
- Magnificent
- Beautiful Day / Alison (snippet)
- I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For / Stand By Me (snippet)
- Elevation
- Your Blue Room
- Unknown Caller
- Until The End Of The World
- Stay (Faraway, So Close!)
- The Unforgettable Fire
- City Of Blinding Lights
- Vertigo / Pump It Up (snippet)
- Crazy Tonight / Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough (snippet)
- Sunday Bloody Sunday / Oliver's Army (snippet)
- MLK
- Walk On
Encore(s):
- One / Amazing Grace (snippet)
- Where The Streets Have No Name
- Ultra Violet (Light My Way)
- With Or Without You
- Moment of Surrender
