The accuracy, reliability, and verifiability of our information is important to us. We use a variety of sources, but primarily we use concert bootlegs - recordings of the actual shows themselves. These are available for most U2 concerts and verify beyond a shadow of a doubt what the band played on a given night. As mentioned above, visit U2Start if you are interested in these recordings. Particularly recent concerts may not yet have bootlegs; however, we are able to do live concert setlists and post accurate sets as soon as the concert is complete through our own personal attendance, live streams, and the resources of the wider fan community.

Some older shows may lack bootlegs. At this point, other sources come into play. Pimm Jal de la Parra's U2 Live: A Concert Documentary is an essential source, rigorously researched and a worthy purchase for anybody interested in U2's live history. We owe a great debt to the work of Pimm. Where both bootlegs and U2 Live are insufficient, we use newspaper reports and other publications, and submissions from fans who were there and can confirm what was played. At times, other sources may be used where appropriate, e.g. one of the band's printed setlists.
