Hmmmm... I can't sing (well I can but it doesn't sound good), play drums, guitar or bass or anything else when it comes to that.... But if you girls form a group, maybe I can tie your shoelaces????????
From: Octu2 on 2005-11-03 02:30:34
how cute was that, that they made those shirts in honor of Larry. Remember how Larry said that on Conan .That he wanted to name the band that. Then Adam, said "Ya that lasted like five min!!" Maybe that is where the idea came from for his birthday.
From: daid on 2005-11-03 10:38:22
what song did they play that night?
From: david on 2005-11-03 10:41:13

From: Ingrid on 2005-11-03 17:02:49
the girls played out of control, the shirt says the LARRY MULLEN BAND.... and susanne... I don't play an instrument tool.... but I'd love to play the guitar....

Hehee Boomie, I think we could be managers then, right???? And Ingrid probably learns to play guitar, that's a deal now....And Fanny, wow, jag är väldigt glad att hörä för ditt band, nice to hear about your band, are you going to write your own lyrics someday???? And about that name... I promise to think about it, but I'm not very good with this, maybe Sushi or somebody else could help you...
From: fanny on 2005-11-03 20:03:52
hehe..susanne=)takk så mycket;) thank you! I think I'll try to write my own lyrics someday, and I think it will be me ending up doing it because I think I am the most inspired one (because of U2). kram til dig=)hehe..(it means hugs to you in swedish doesn't it?)
From: Susanne on 2005-11-03 20:07:48
Yes it does, Fanny. Krammar för dig också... Hope to get to hear your lyrics someday...
From: fanny on 2005-11-03 20:12:22

From: any suggestions for bandname oct?? on 2005-11-03 20:30:57
=D
From: Octu2 on 2005-11-03 20:34:44
I notice that the most nonsensical names are the best. Like "Cherry" for instance or the band Cream......Just think of something that brought you all together and has some meaning to everyone in the band.
From: Ingrid on 2005-11-04 15:10:02
*points up*how about the larry mullen band?
From: mariëtte on 2005-11-05 14:43:11
hey! I have a band too and we don't have a name actually, so, any suggestions for my band? :P
From: Susanne on 2005-11-05 14:46:39
What kind of music does your band play, Mariëtte? And as Octu said, simple band name is always the best... But I'm not very good at inventing names for things...
From: mariëtte on 2005-11-05 14:50:01
Well, we play, rock of course, you know little nirvana, U2 coldplay, such music.Isuggested the name 'Feedback' a couple of weeks ago (that was wat U2 was called first :) ) But my bandmembers didn'r really agree with that..soo
From: Susanne on 2005-11-05 14:54:49
Hmmm, I would have liked Feedback... Well I hope you make it big someday, remember to tell us if/when you release something someday. :)Band name... Hmmmm....
From: Ingrid on 2005-11-05 22:54:14
how about hype? or The Hype^^ hehe
From: mariëtte on 2005-11-06 23:21:01
hehe...what are the other names U2 had before there name was U2? :P
From: Ingrid on 2005-11-07 16:19:54
for the first five mins, The Larry Mullen Band, after that it became Feedback, in '78 they switched to The Hype, in '79 to U2
From: Susanne on 2005-11-07 16:31:26
Hmmmm... My friend gave me my b-day present today (only three months late, heh) and guess what she had bought? Niall Stokes' book "U2 into the heart"... I love books, I'm a big reader, and obviously I love U2, but I'm not sure at all that I wanted to have that book... Although it was a very nice thought for my friend... *sighs*
From: Ingrid on 2005-11-07 16:53:05
what is it about??? I don't know it:p
From: Susanne on 2005-11-07 16:56:59
It's the book that some Bono's friend make, you know, the one where they explain "the stories behind every song", the one that Larry didn't like...
From: Ingrid on 2005-11-07 18:11:37
hmmmm... nope don't know it.. also this guitar mag reveals why edge is allways stomping his feet on the ground!!!!! I hereby quote for you, on a icture of a screaming bono back to back with a guitar playing edge during vertigo tour:"Toe stamps: The most effective weapon in the fight against Bono's soapbox sessions"
From: Susanne on 2005-11-07 18:49:36
Hihii, that explains a lot... And about that book, I have been looking at it with some curiosity and cautiousness, (there's lot of nice pics, that's a comfort at least) and decided that it's ok to have... I'm not gonna read what all the songs stand for, just those explanations which I have been really wondering what their meaning is... Like Mofo, maybe I finally get that song althouhg I like it already... But some songs are so meaningful, that I don't want to know what Bono has really been thinking while writing the lyrics, I mean, they have already a certain meaning to me and I see them with a certain way, and finding out what those songs are really about... Well maybe that would ruin that what those songs really mean to me??? Eeeeh, I'm not sure what really is my point here, it's just that... Well it's nice to know the backgrounds of some of the lyrics and so on, but well, sometimes knowing too much detail isn't good.. Äh.. *starts to get desperate since even she doesn't understand herself anymore*
From: Ingrid on 2005-11-07 18:51:07
yeah I guess youre right... I had that with beautiful day, read meanings on a site.. but I allready forgot their meaning of it since I totally couldnt agree with it.. I just didn't understand it really... but what explanation is given for Mofo?? I'm sure everybody here would like to know...
From: Susanne on 2005-11-07 19:39:03
Ok, here is what is MOFO all about according to this book (if somebody doesn't want to ruin his/her idea of that song, then don't read this...)these are direct quotations:"It began as a conversation with Simon Carmody, a master of the art of rock 'n' roll argot. Bono picked Simon up on his use of the term "motherf****r" and a philosophical debate ensued about the origins of the word in black slang and the way it was being turned from a term of abuse into one of praise. "It's such a dumb cliché, you wanna have a good reason to use it," Bono smiles. And so they set about finding one, settling on 'Mofo' as a likely title and building from there.""Mofo is about the fact that very basic things often make you what you are, that go back to the way you got on with your brothers, sisters, father and -in this case most emphatically- your mother. It's about being an abadoned child, an experience that goes to the heart of the blues.""Bono: "In the middle of it, when you go into that conversation piece, it's like WHAT?," he says. "It's the most exposed moment, in the hardest tune on the record. It was as if my whole life was in that song...."Huh.
From: Ingrid on 2005-11-07 20:40:25
err I didn't get anything of that really... it's confusinggg just like Bono Lovetown tour during angel of harlem, first encore... starts with things like *very weird voice, like he's swallowing something* yeah we need those five mins to get ur shittogether(really he uses one word for that!) and now we're back, here's the bbking orchestra, psychedelic, boogalooo angel of harlemmm! let's party!as in.. how bad can you make me laugH!!!!
From: Susanne on 2005-11-07 22:38:30
Well I think I got it now when I realized how that word "motherf****r" fits in.... Hmmm, I wonder whether Mofo is a bit too rough to play before going to sleep.... Maybe I just have to listen MLK and I will see nice dreams.
