Today, U2 performed their first ever concert in Colombia, in the national capital Bogotá. On their three previous tours of South America, U2 only played in Argentina, Brazil, and Chile.

Colombia is the only country on the Joshua Tree Tour 2017 that U2 have never visited before. The last time they went to a country for the first time was Turkey on 6 September 2010; the previous month they also played their first ever Russian concert on 25 August 2010. The 360 Tour was a good one for U2 visiting new countries: on the first leg they performed in Croatia for the first time, on 9 and 10 August 2009. But in 2015 they did not go anywhere new on the Innocence + Experience Tour.

None of the Latin American countries visited this month featured on the original Joshua Tree Tour in 1987. There had been plans to to continue that tour in Latin America during early 1988 but those never came to pass.

During Bad, Bono acknowledged the famous Colombian author Gabriel Garcia Márquez, calling him a hero of the band since they were teenagers. This led into a passionate snippet of David Bowie's Heroes. Bono acknowledged another famous Colombian during Beautiful Day when he snippeted some of Shakira's hit Whenever, Wherever.

Bono reprised a couple of themes from the IE Tour. First, during Pride, he gave his speech about how Ireland achieved peace through compromise, and that because "no-one won, everybody won". And at the end of the night he sang Invisible's refrain of "there is no them, there's only us" over the conclusion of One. Invisible joins the regular snippet of California in Streets as the only representatives from the Songs of Innocence era on the current tour.
