Today, U2 played the first of two concerts in the Boston area. It was held at Gillette Stadium in nearby Foxboro. Earlier in the day, the band's crew did some soundchecking, then the band themselves arrived for a brief soundcheck of their own. It featured Elevation, Your Blue Room, and Beautiful Day. The Maya Angelou intro that precedes Ultra Violet was also checked. Your Blue Room unfortunately missed out on inclusion in the gig itself.
The setlist was identical to that played at the previous show, Toronto II. This means New Year's Day was played at consecutive shows for the first time on the 360° Tour; including today's show, it has only been played six times this tour. Also, this is only the second time U2 have played identical sets at consecutive shows on 360°. After not playing identical sets on consecutive nights at all in Europe, they did it first at Chicago II and Toronto I.
