U2 to perform in front of the Brandenburg Gate

Just after the band wrap up the 360° Tour for 2009, they are heading to Germany for a very special appearance in Berlin. Next Thursday, 5 November 2009, U2 are going to perform in front of the Brandenburg Gate. It will be broadcast as part of MTV's 2009 Europe Music Awards, and is a prelude to the 20th anniversary "Fall of the Wall" celebrations in Berlin. An article (in German) on MTV Germany's website indicates U2's set will be approximately 20 minutes long and begin at 6:30pm.

The concert will be free. However, admission will be regulated, and if you want to go, you have to apply for an e-ticket. These are limited to a maximum of two per applicant and are available on a first-come, first-served basis as of later this morning. Registration begins at 9am Berlin time, Wednesday 28 October.

To register, go to Eventim.de.
