U2 today returned to New York for the first of two more shows after their five consecutive concerts back in October, and although the setlist was pretty similar to that played two days ago at the second Atlanta concert, it contained one big surprise. For the first time ever, U2 performed John Lennon's Instant Karma. The song was performed in full with Patti Smith, who earlier in the evening opened the concert.
