Santiago Setlist

Today, U2 played only their second concert ever in the nation of Chile, ever so slightly over eight years after the first on 11 February 1998. The 1998 show featured what was the last of eleven performances of Mothers Of The Disappeared. It can no longer claim that distinction, as today, the song was performed again. Edge played a charango, a traditional South American instrument similar in appearance to a small guitar, and performed the song solely with Bono. Interestingly, during the soundcheck, Mothers Of The Disappeared was rehearsed by the band in a style much like that found on The Joshua Tree album.

Another interesting element of the setlist is that All I Want Is You remained as the closer, and despite the fact it was released as a download-only single on the 20th of this month, Original Of The Species has been omitted from the second show in a row.
