U2's Toronto #2 setlist, 17/09
Today, U2 are performing their second of two concerts in Toronto. The band will not be back in Canada until the very last date of the tour, when they visit Vancouver in late October.
In a considerable surprise, U2 changed the opening quintuplet of songs - the first four were unchanged, but Mysterious Ways was introduced at fifth, bumping the usual fifth song, Beautiful Day, to sixth. This is the first time Mysterious Ways has been played on the second leg (its last performance was 22 August 2009 at the end of the first leg), and later in the set, New Year's Day joined in on the second leg debuts. This is the first time New Year's Day has been played since 15 August 2009, and only its fifth performance on the 360° Tour. There was no Your Blue Room tonight, and Pride remains missing in action. Since its debut in 1984, this is only the second time Pride has ever missed at least three concerts in a row - the first was when it missed the opening eight gigs of the Elevation Tour in March/April 2001.
Update 18/09: U2 considered performing Desire at this show. It appears in the printed set between New Year's Day and Stuck In A Moment, but it is written within brackets, meaning its performance was not certain. Evidently, on stage, the band ultimately did not feel like playing it. Last time Desire was played was 31 July 2009. U2.com currently claims Desire was played, but this is incorrect.
