Comments: U2 record two songs at RTÉ Television Centre. The actual recording date for both songs is unknown; "Life on a Distant Planet" is broadcast on the TV show 'Aspects of Rock' on this date, which is what we are using for this entry. "Out of Control" is shown on the programme 'Our Times' in December. Though the video for "Life on a Distant Planet" has been widely shared online over the years the recording of "Out of Control" was thought lost until September 2026 when RTÉ Archives posted it online. The video is bizarre, featuring the band members in clown outfits with heavy make-up painted on their faces.
