Today U2 performed their second of two shows in Amsterdam, with a couple of changes in the set from the first night. First, A Sort of Homecoming returned to the setlist for its third performance of the European leg, displacing Bad. Second, I Will Follow closed the show, marking just its second performance of the leg. Mysterious Ways, accordingly, was omitted from the encore. This means that Amsterdam joins Berlin as the only European cities this leg to not get new song The Little Things That Give You Away—in a few days we will see if Brussels joins them.

Keen setlist watchers will note the presence of With or Without You's live-only verse Shine Like Stars for just the second time this tour after 21 May in Pasadena. Bono sang it at the very end of the song, just before Bullet the Blue Sky. Running to Stand Still was dedicated to Dutch musician and painter Herman Brood.

You likely recall that a couple of days ago U2 filmed a video in front of a select group of fans for new single The Blackout. Well, more developments are afoot. Yesterday, a girl was brought on stage to dance during Mysterious Ways and eagle-eyed fans spotted that her jacket has a lyric from The Best Thing, a new song that leaked online last year, on the back. The same actress was filmed in the audience at today's show. It appears this is for a video, with signs at the venue featuring hilarious legalese about entry to the venue representing your consent for your likeness to be used "in all media forever and throughout the universe".
