Photos inside Etihad Stadium, Melbourne
I thought I had done a decent enough job peering into Etihad Stadium photographing U2's stage under construction, but now you're all in for a real treat. One of the riggers, submitting under the name Butler, has kindly provided us with some fantastic shots from inside Etihad Stadium. They show the stage going up on Friday and Saturday, and you can have a look at them below. Thanks muchly to Butler!
I won't waste too much of your time with my personal commentary and let the pictures speak for themselves. The first few photos were taken on Friday the 26th, before the legs of the Claw went up.
A third crane joins the party:
The remainder of the photos were taken on Saturday the 27th, as the framework of the Claw started to rise above the pitch at Etihad. By this point, a fourth crane had come to partake in the festivities.
