Alright, here we go, updated the mainpage article! Full Brussels 2 setlist & plenty of info: http://u2.gs/fM
Now just give me a moment to update the mainpage article. Not at all a perfunctory update for this gig!
Thanks to Matt for his epic feed, awesome stuff! Can’t wait for videos.
thats it. what a show. watch out for videos later. matt http://twitcasting.tv/u2…
Hahaha, there’s Singing In The Rain alright! Just when I thought he wasn’t going to oblige.
So, will the gig end with a Singing In The Rain snippet and make this the third gig to have it done 3 times in the one show?
Only snip ever in HMTMKMKM: Children Of The Revolution, Mannheim, 31/07/97. Best HMTMKMKM ever, if you ask me.
And here comes Moment Of Surrender, 24th and presumably last song of the night.
Wa-hey, Shine Like Stars in WOWY!
@SeattleB My feed fucked up and I missed the end. :(
@llootsteen39 Right venue, wrong gig. :) You’re thinking of the show on 30 December 1989, also a killer gig.
have to restart again in a moment. http://moi.st/7df96
Anyone fancy a trivia game? Without checking the site, what is the only song ever snippeted in HMTMKMKM, and when? Answer when MOS begins.
Bono yells “what time is it in the world?” Time for an awkward transition into 23rd song, With Or Without You.
Awww yeah, 22nd is Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me. This song is owning the 3rd leg.
@llootsteen39 26 December 1989, Point Depot, Dublin. Will link you to OTH after the gig.
Now the big question - UV or HMTMKMKM? My money’s on the latter.
@llootsteen39 You need that gig. One Tree Hill’s performance… U2 have never done better.
Though the best Streets intro snippet was Resolution And Independence (William Wordsworth) on 26 Dec ’89.
Personally, I much prefer it when Bono snippets Rain than Amazing Grace.
Snippet of Rain instead of Amazing Grace, leads into 21st song, Streets.
C’mon Bono, you know you want to do Hear Us Coming… nope, not tonight apparently.
@skid63 You did! Believe it or not, they actually played it!
20th song, first of encore, is One.
Band thank the crowd, main set’s done. Let’s hope the rain doesn’t abbreviate the encore, Zurich style!
There’s ye olde You’ll Never Walk Alone snippet to end Walk On.
i think i must restart after 30 minutes … http://moi.st/7df83
@llootsteen39 Cheers, my computer was cutting out terribly then!
Have a wild guess what’s 19th. Yep, Walk On. Brussels misses out on Mothers Of The Disappeared, it seems. :(
Pride fittingly segues into MLK, 18th song. No intro speech by Bono!
@llootsteen39 My computer is failing and I actually didn’t hear it, but multiple people report it. Where was it, before/after Relax?
Looks like Crazy had a Life During Wartime snip too. Def going to have to snippet-check this part of the show later.
uh, seems to fine fir the furst time. champaign ar end of Vertigo. matt http://moi.st/7df83
Pride’s back in the set, taking 17th position from usual suspect SBS like it did in Helsinki a month ago.
Relax snippet in Crazy. Thiiink Discotheque’s riff was snippeted by Edge but can’t be sure.
@elvetio As in Rain by the Beatles? Thanks.
@U2tour Great, thanks for confirm. :)
I Can’t Stand The Rain at the start of Crazy. Think Funky Town too?
16th is Crazy Tonight.
Snippet of It’s Only Rock ‘n’ Roll at the end of Vertigo.
Did anybody catch if there was a snip at the end of COBL or not?
15th is Vertigo.
So, AOH and Bad in place of new stuff then…? Doubt we’ll see a new song show up later in the set, though who knows with this set!
Rain hosing down in Brussels.
And there we go, via @U2tour, In A Little While was 12th. So that makes Miss S 13th, COBL 14th.
So after Bad, the band have done Miss S and City Of Blinding Lights. Not sure what, if anything, was between Bad and Miss S.
@llootsteen39 For me, ASOH, OTH, and Heartland are far and away better than anything else U2 have done.
@llootsteen39 Hopefully OTH will return to the set for the Auckland gigs at least!
That. Was. Bliss.
Singing In The Rain reappears! Snippeted in Bad.
If you can’t tell, I’m thrilled Bad is back in the set. If it weren’t for One Tree Hill & 11OTT, I’d claim it is U2’s best live song.
Bad has been played a mere six times this tour. Last time was 12 September 2009.
OH MY GOD! ELEVENTH IS BAD!
Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough snip at the end of Angel.
This song hasn’t been played since the second Dublin gig on 25 July 2009! First RAH song performed at a 360 Tour gig this year.
WOAH. Tenth is Angel Of Harlem!
After the speech, ninth of course is Still Haven’t Found.
U2log 32 years for Joe OHerlihy tonight. Long Bono speech.
UTEOTW gets a Singing In The Rain snippet. You knew it’d show up sooner or later!
Eighth is Until The End Of The World.
But the good news is that @U2tour says there will be more streamed later. Awesome! :)
And that’s all for the live feed for now. @U2tour said they won’t be doing many songs today because of the shonky network.
Sixth is Mysterious Ways. Business as normal so far…
@llootsteen39 Oh well, at least the extra work/pressure will keep me awake. ;) Streams let me get lazy…
Here is the mainpage article where I will be keeping track of the full setlist live: http://u2.gs/fM
Fifth is Magnificent.
Second to fourth: Beautiful Day, New Year’s Day, Get On Your Boots.
The mobile network at the stadium in Brussels blows, so we may be in for another day of slow updates. Bleh.
@ElsB2009 Up late or up early? ;) I (Ax) am up way too early while Matt actually gets to go to the show.
@llootsteen39 Hah, I’m just expecting Singing In The Rain x3 again!
We’re go at Brussels 2! Stingray Guitar opens.
For anyone catching up, soundcheck secrecy refers to this on @U2log: “So, rest of soundcheck was band PA only. Secrecy, eh?”
Hi folks, Ax checking in here. Rain in Brussels may be harbinger of snippets, but is soundcheck secrecy harbinger of setlist changes?
@U2start don’t forget Batman for UV.
Brussels Snippetwatch: Relax confirmed (was brief) & ISHFWILF had Movin’ On Up (hooray!). Thx everyone who replied; you’re prompt and great!
Re: the tenuous Norwegian Wood snippet, I like @alljokesmustgo’s suggestion that there should be a “snippet snippets” category.
Both Matt and @U2log are pretty sure that Relax was in Crazy Tonight, so it’s going in the set until anybody proves otherwise!
@Matkin22 That’s what I’ve suspected for a while too. Ran into the same problem as you back when I added artists to all the songs.
But, y’know, it’s there, and we’re completists/pedants…
Just played Matt’s video of MW, and that Norwegian Wood snippet? Bono mumbles melody, no words enunciated. Tenuous! At end: http://u2.gs/fB
Anybody able to confirm or deny whether Crazy Tonight in Brussels had a snippet of Relax?
Brussels Snippetwatch: Matt confirms Street had brief All You Need Is Love, and that C Moon was in MW again.
@greety Perhaps in Streets? It’s usually there, after the “love, love, love” bit.
