@atu2 it was. Saw a photo earlier.
Looks like our database had some problems to handle 40 correctly after such a long time :-) Typo fixed.
@ryannichols7 Correct. They were Boston, 24 and 26 May 2005. (I was also at 28/05 when we were robbed of 40 by Vertigo x2.)
@k_now_waite Yep. 40 was also snippeted at a number of 2009 shows on 360 too.
It’s about time I (Chris) head to bed. Had a great time following along with you guys! How long…… To sing this song…. How long….
@iammarsgirl 40! What a great reason to stay up!
To sing this song…..
I (Ax) feel very lucky that my first ever #U2 show closed with 40. It was divine. The next show closed with Bad/40. That was even better.
When 40 was played in Moncton, it was the 1st time an original #U2 song debuted on tour at the last show - and as the last song of tour too!
I (Chris) may love 2000’s U2, but 40 is right up there with my favorite U2 songs ever. Just gorgeous.
24th song is 40!!!!! First performance since Moncton at the end of the 360 Tour! (The only performance of 40 on that tour) #U2ieTour
@DWilbur3 I really do miss my native CT. Miss it terribly.
California snippet in Streets.
And I (Chris) am struggling to stay awake! (It’s 1:35am on the US east coast) But… #U2ieTour
@KevinMFeeney Hard to argue with that!
I (Ax) am at work and should be focusing on it but … #U2ieTour
@KevinMFeeney Don’t know if it’s the biggest (Bullet-Hands-Pride) but it’s strange. Would be less strange without the speech after COBL/MD
I (Matt) should have left home for work about 20 minutes ago but … #U2ieTour
Mother And Child Reunion snippet leads into Where The Streets Have No Name, the 23rd song of the night. #U2ieTour
One day I (Ax) hope Bono snippets my favourite Joy Division song, New Dawn Fades. #U2
22nd song of the night is… City Of Blinding Lights #U2ieTour
Stephen Hawking video. By the way, if you haven’t seen The Theory Of Everything, you’re missing out. Tremendous film about Mr. Hawking
@ClaytonsKitten Couldn’t have said it any better. Probably the most emotional song on 360 for me
And that’s the end of the main set, catch up on what’s been played right here: http://www.u2gigs.com/ar…
Bono saying “Goodnight” during With Or Without You has always almost reduced me to tears for a reason I can’t explain.
With Or Without You has some extra umph tonight. Bono isn’t speak singing the first few verses like on 360.
21st is With Or Without You #U2ieTour
Moment of Surrender snippet in Bad
@StartAtlnfinity It was done in encore in Vancouver, but then between BD/WOWY on its subsequent appearances (replacing Troubles one night).
@skid63 And a great Memorial Day is was! Hope all my fellow Americans enjoyed it
@KevinMFeeney Awesome is an understatement! I’ve never heard it live before, but I like my chances in NYC. (Seeing three shows!)
@OnTheRoadWithU2 I thought he sang it as “early evening” in Phoenix?
@StartAtlnfinity Nothing yet. They’re meant to go straight from BDay to WOWY according to the printed set.
Bono: “This is a song about letting go. Anything you’re holding onto tonight, just let it go.” #U2ieTour
20th song of the night is Bad! “A little change in the program here” says Bono. #U2ieTour
I Remember You snippet at the end of Beautiful Day
“See the world in white and blue. The armed forces returning to you”- #Bono referencing Fleet Week here in the USA?
“The heart is a bloom” is and forever will be my favorite U2 lyric. Short, simple and yet so beautiful (pun intended) and uplifting (Chris)
19th is Beautiful Day (Chris smiles) #U2ieTour
Bono sings “Early morning, April 4” in Pride. The original, yet incorrect lyric he always corrects live.
@hjwallace1 Yeah, but it’s still a generally awkward pairing. I really don’t understand it sonically.
The band, especially Bono, seem extra enthusiastic tonight. Love, love, love the energy. #U2ieTour
The Hands That Built America snippet leads into Pride, the 18th song of the night. #U2ieTour
Brief snippet of “19” by Paul Hardcastle in Bullet, as usual.
Love Bono’s “Outside it’s America!” screams in Bullet this tour. Very powerful.
17th is Bullet The Blue Sky #U2ieTour
16th is Every Breaking Wave #U2ieTour
Being a New Yorker, I can’t help but adore Angel Of Harlem. That riff instantly puts a smile on my face.
15th is Angel Of Harlem #U2ieTour
Was that a brief snippet of Not Fade Away in Desire?
Full band Desire never gets old, let me tell you (Chris)
Desire is 14th #U2ieTour
Also a short My Sweet Lord snippet in MWays before the Young Americans snippet. #U2ieTour
Young Americans snippet in MW
13th is Mysterious Ways #U2ieTour
@GregBussmann I (Ax) would be very keen on The Fly entering rotation. Never gets old.
@TylerBronn Hell yes!
12th is Even Better Than The Real Thing. #U2ieTour
Invisible, the 11th song of the night, opens the second set. #U2ieTour
Was that the most intense Raised By Wolves-Until The End Of The World sequence this tour? It sure sounded like it #U2ieTour
@ryannichols7 I wondered that, but I didn’t hear the “out damned spots” line and couldn’t make out other words properly.
@Drea104 Yep I (Ax) agree. That UTEOTW was off the hook.
Yeah that sounded like a lengthy snippet at end of UTEOTW but I (Ax) couldn’t pick it. Recitation of one of the books Bono throws to crowd?
As the LA crowd is treated to The Wanderer intermission video, check out what U2’s played so far here http://www.u2gigs.com/ar…
Anyone catch what Bono was saying at the end of End Of The World? I couldn’t quite make it out #U2ieTour
Until The End Of The World is 10th. #U2ieTour
Psalm 23 snippet in RBW
For those of you who have seen the #U2ieTour already, is Raised By Wolves really this electric? It’s sounded incredible
9th is Raised By Wolves #U2ieTour
Non-music note: How many of you are NBA fans and who’s excited for this Warriors-Cavs NBA Finals?! I know I am! Ok, back to U2!
8th is the reimagined version of Sunday Bloody Sunday. #U2ieTour
7th is Song For Someone #U2ieTour
@Hoosier2012 There are still three more LA shows!
After a powerful rendition of the lovely Iris (Hold Me Close), sixth is Cedarwood Road. #U2ieTour
Fifth is Iris (Hold Me Close) #U2ieTour
A note on Vertigo, I’m really surprised we haven’t heard much snippetry during the outro as common on the last two tours.
4th is I Will Follow #U2ieTour
Vertigo is third, with a snippet of Do You Remember Rock ‘n’ Roll Radio to start #U2ieTour
Ax checking in. Love this opening punch. I hope 11 O’clock Tick Tock may join OOC, Electric Co, and I Will Follow in repping Boy. #U2ieTour
I don’t know about you, but I’ll never get tired of hearing Out Of Control. What longevity this song has. (Chris)
Second song is Out Of Control #U2ieTour
First song of the night is The Miracle (Of Joey Ramone) #U2ieTour
People Have The Power playing over the PA, show should be starting momentarily #U2ieTour
We’re a few minutes away from showtime in LA. I (Chris) may have to duck out for a minute or two a bit later, but I’ll try not to. #U2ieTour
Show should start in a little more than an hour. See you then! #U2ieTour
Chris here. Ax is busy working so it looks like I’ll be with you for most/all of the night. Let’s see how U2 pays tribute to Dennis Sheehan.
@KevinMFeeney Interesting. I’ll have to jump on the forum and check it out!
@joshkcampbell It’s basically the same thing as 360.
